Traditionally one of SNOWDOWN’S wildest events! Coed teams of your favorite local servers from area restaurants compete in a fun and frequently messy obstacle course incorporating waiting skills and a bit of a SNOWDOWN twist! Teams must be 2 male and 2 female members of local restaurant wait staff over the age of 21. All teams are required to show their ID and sign a waiver before competing. See you there!

Nerd alert! Don your Spiderman, Super Woman, or Black Panther digs and join fellow super heros for the esteemed Fort “Lex Luthor” College Trivia Showdown. Bring your A-game and get ready to slay questions about everything from when the first comic strip was published (1896) to who was FLC’s first mascot (hint: not Skyler), and everything in between. Brought to you by the Quiz Masters of Durango’s higher-learning institution. Alumni, students and general public welcome. Must be 18+.

4:30 PM SNOWDOWN BED RACES

Between 7th, 8th & Main

The bed races are back! Hosted by The 100 Club of Durango, they’re bringing back the bed races for some head to head, fast-action fun on Main Street before the start of the Snowdown Light Parade. 24 teams will compete for the title of the SNOWDOWN Bed Race Champions! Races will be single-elimination, head-to head, where the fastest team wins and advances to the next round. Beds are provided. Teams consist of 5 people, with 4 people pushing and one person on the bed. Teams will race down and back, changing their comic-con “onsie” half way down with the person on the bed and racing back to the finish line. Proceeds from this event will benefit the 100 Club of Durango. Registration for the event will begin on Dec 20, 2018 and close Jan 20, 2019. Spots will fill up fast, so assemble your team and keep an eye out for registration info on our Facebook page. All competitors must wear helmets and appropriate footwear is strongly suggested.

Starlight Lounge - 932 Main

Come in to play this relay race where players stand opposite sides of the board, down a cup of beer, then use the launchers to try to flip the cup upside down. The first one to flip the cup upright wins! This event will finish in time for the SNOWDOWN Light Parade. Must be 21+.

Durango Elks Lodge # 507- 901 E 2nd Ave (9th St entrance)

Come in before the parade and fill up! Or during, or after! Yummy food for all you SNOWDOWN goers! This meal will warm your comic self just in time for the next adventure…spaghetti and meatballs (some vegetarian too)! Garlic bread, salad, drinks, and cash bar. Please use the 9th St entrance, half block up from the parade.

Hosted by Purgatory Resort

Durango’s only nighttime parade, where comic themed lighted floats create a dazzling delight. Floats compete for trophies in 10 divisions with special emphasis on the lights and theme.

Hosted by Know the Snow

Race registration to begin at Chapman immediately following the SNOWDOWN Light Parade. This is an up-hill downhill snow travel race, relay teams welcome. The race will consist of 2 or 3 laps up and down Chapman Hill Municipal ski area. Proceeds will go to Know the Snow Fund for avalanche awareness and education.

The Follies return for the 36th year of entertainment with your favorite showbiz personalities and local commentary. This notoriously irreverent review performs in two theaters simultaneously. Really! Cash bar! Ticket purchases limited to four per person for this show performed by an all-volunteer cast and crew! Ticket sales support SNOWDOWN. This is adult entertainment.
