Cats in costume come hither. If you whisper “SNOWDOWN” in your cat’s ear just before you start to dress ‘em they won’t try to squirm away from you (that’s a little-known fact). Hosted by McDonald’s, this event is literally the cat’s meow...and a purr-fect spectator sport.

(Sat) NEW! 2 PM THE DURANGO CAT-A-PULT
Buckley Park – 12th St. and Main
A long, long time ago, the Kingdom of Durango was under siege by the San Juans of the north. The Durangotangs, upon running out of stones to throw, only had Kitties to hurl at the invaders. The San Juans were defeated after an afternoon of Kitty hurling and were driven back north where they remain today. To celebrate this historical event, we present the Durango Cat-a-Pult / Trebuchet. The goal of this contest is to have fun! And build a trebuchet that can shoot (hurl) reliably, and accurately (approx. 270ish ft). Launching a Kitty projectile, approx. 8 oz (provided by the Snowdown Cat-a-Pult Trebuchet event coordinators) repeatedly, 3 tries, to a “Kitty Box” target. All contestants and teams must meet event rules and regulations. Rules may be picked up from the contest sponsor, Old Tymer’s Cafe – 10th and Main or E-mail: DurangoCatAPult@yahoo.com Disclaimer: No real cats will be harmed during this event.
